Category Description
This award is open to any community development project, including national & local Government, public sector & charities and to businesses that have developed a project in their community that has been operating for at least 5 years, whether it be working with other organisations or independently.
The award will be given to the most innovative, engaged and successful community development scheme which must demonstrate how it influenced the community, how many people it impacted as well as the continuing benefits.
The measurement of relevant activities includes innovation, integration and other impacts that foster improved relations and include measureable benefits for a community group. Judges will consider and reward organisations for managing programmes and projects aimed at improving community services, products and quality of life.
The Judges will specifically be looking for quantified details of projects, outcomes, achievements and the effectiveness of the programme; evidence of the degree of innovation in scoping and developing the initiative and the overall impact of the project; the use of awareness raising to promote the scheme and details of any third party involvement in delivering the programme.
Criteria
Judges will be looking for evidence of the following points within the supplied application form (weighting percentages in brackets):
- How the project was scoped and developed to set new standards for innovation and creativity; (20%)
- Awareness raising of the project to promote the scheme across the targeted community; (20%)
- The measurement of overall impact on community in real terms: whether the scheme positively influenced change in the community resulting in quantifiable impact on individuals; (40%)
- How the organisation’s scheme shows long-term commitment to the community and growing benefits; (20%)
