The Project
Cool Earth is a non-profit organisation that works alongside rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its impact on climate change. We work successfully with several communities across Peru, DR Congo and Papua New Guinea, our most established partnership being with the Asháninka in Peru since 2008. In each partnership, funds are transferred directly to a freely elected Community Association, who decide on and implement projects according to community needs. The support focuses on improvements in livelihoods and access to services with the aim that forest protection becomes a sustainable component of empowered, healthy communities.
