The Crystal exhibition features interactive exhibits, films, and animations, allowing visitors to explore a range of issues including city trends, urban planning, smart buildings, safety and security, energy, water, healthy lifestyles, environment, and mobility. The urban planning exhibition also features case studies from cities around the world sharing innovative ideas, and the ‘Future Life’ theatre invites you to imagine how cities might look in 2050.

Due to its innovative architecture and technology the Crystal is one of the world’s most sustainable buildings, achieving Outstanding BREEAM accreditation and Platinum LEEDaccreditation – the most stringent standards for sustainable design and construction.
The Crystal is an all-electric building that uses solar power and a ground source heat pump to generate its own energy. It showcases state-of-the-art technologies to make buildings more efficient and also profiles Siemens’ Environmental Portfolio. The building incorporates rainwater harvesting, black water treatment, solar heating and automated building management systems.

The Crystal are committed to providing a unique hospitality service that focuses on outstanding quality, and the principles of responsibility, sustainability, health and well being. Working with in-house caterer Sodexo Prestige, they ensure they know where their produce is sourced, and wherever possible, ensuring milk is organic, eggs are free range and key ingredients are seasonal. They have a diverse portfolio of local suppliers that includes 4˚C for ‘Leaf marked’ fruit and vegetables, Rhodes Bakery for delicious artisan bread and Direct Seafood for MSC accredited seafood. Best practice is exercised for food sourcing and preparation, and all menus will be delivered with skill and passion.

How can I get there
Situated in the heart of the Royal London Docks, travelling to The Crystal couldn’t be easier. You can arrive by car (onsite charging points available), Bus, DLR or by air, via London City Airport, situated just 5 minutes drive away. The Jubilee Line and the Thames Clipper also stops at East Greenwich (the O2), where you can pick up the Emirates Air Line Cable Car, which will give you an aerial view of The Crystal as you arrive.
