Biography
Tim has been a tax professional for over 22 years. He trained with Coopers & Lybrand before moving to in-house roles in the FTSE100, firstly with Carlton Communications plc and then with Anglo American plc.
Over 12 years at Anglo American Tim became a leading expert in tax transparency, tax strategy and stakeholder engagement, at the heart of the responsible tax debate. Tim has been contributing on tax for sustainable development reports and publishing tax numbers on a country-by-country basis for over 10 years.
Tim now runs Engaged Consulting and advises FTSE100 and other large businesses on tax governance and transparency.
Tim writes a blog “Tax is Accrual Business”. His pieces on Amazon’s move to recording sales in the UK was very well received, as was his piece on the challenges facing tax haven jurisdiction.
As well as client work, Tim has become a regular participant in tax policy debates and events in the UK and Brussels, including the new APPG on Responsible Tax.
Tim was recently voted 5th in the #economia50 most influential commentators on finance on social media.
