With one week to go until the entry window closes for the inaugural National CSR Awards, The Carbon Trust has announced its support for this unique initiative.
The Carbon Trust will join a growing number of sponsors, partners and supporters of this initiative including NatWest, Carillion, Global Action Plan, Ethical Performance and ECO Action Games.
Myles McCarthy, Director of Implementation at the Carbon Trust, said: “Recognising and rewarding success in sustainability is one of the best ways to promote best practice and accelerate action across industries. We are pleased to be involved with the National CSR Awards and look forward to seeing the spotlight shining on some of the best social responsibility and sustainability initiatives around the UK.”
This announcement coincides with the news from National CSR Awards HQ that they will be announcing the shortlisted candidates LIVE from the pre-judging room on 6th February. The winners will then be chosen by the impressive team of judges which includes Camila Batmanghelidjh CBE, Founder of Kids Company; Tony Juniper, Environmentalist and Writer; James Cameron, Chairman of Climate Change Capital; and Bruce Poon Tip, Philanthropist & Social Innovator.
Karen Sutton, Chief Executive of the Awards initiative, said “We wanted to do something a little different around the announcement of the shortlisted candidates that will create a bit of excitement! We’ve been blown away by the varied projects that have been entered by organisations from all around the UK. The additional support from The Carbon Trust is the icing on the cake! I couldn’t be happier with the response in our first year.”
Organisations that wish to track the live announcements should follow @NationalCSR and the hashtag #nationalCSR.
CSR video production specialists LetThemTalk have also confirmed their commitment to the National CSR Awards Showcase Event on March 6th and they will be delivering a media project on the day with locally based Brooklands College.
Emma Potter, Producer of LetThemTalk, said “We’re super excited to be a part of the National CSR Awards in 2015. We knew CSR was going to be at the heart of our business, so this event will put us right in the mix.”
The event, hosted by Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, won’t be just an awards ceremony. There will be a fleet of low-carbon and electric vehicles, from many of the leading manufacturers, available for guests to test drive; along with an exhibition floor packed with interactive exhibits including a Global Action Plan arena, engaging ECO Action games, a Charity Zone and many other opportunities for your business to access unique sustainability initiatives.
