GGA spreads its wings with Ethical Angel and CAF
The Global Good Awards (GGA) is excited to announce that this year’s ceremony will include the very first Ethical Angel and Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Community Investment Award, a new category recognising the important role corporate giving has in creating greater social value.
Ethical Angel is the UK market leader in virtual volunteering and experiential learning and has recently launched its Community Giving Index Calculator (CGIX) – a way of analysing and benchmarking an organisation’s community investment – which will be used to decide the winner. It has partnered with CAF, which encourages businesses to donate to charity, as its mission chimes with its own of encouraging businesses to volunteer more. Together they hope the award will build business confidence to take action, to embrace employer supported giving and volunteering, and providing staff with ways to make a personal impact.
“We hope the new award will raise the profile of corporate giving and celebrate the amazing work that is being done by businesses to support global causes,” reflects Karen Sutton, GGA CEO. “We are the gold standard awards for sustainable business and an important showcase of the extraordinary innovation evident across industries so launching this category in partnership with Ethical Angel and CAF was a natural fit.”
Companies and organisations both large and small are encouraged to enter. Entries will be judged on cash donations (and matched giving), employee fundraising donations, in-kind donations, skilled volunteering hours, manual volunteering hours and professional and in-person volunteering hours. All entrants have to do is complete Ethical Angel’s CGiX Calculator using their corporate giving data from their 2020/21 financial year, which is very easy to do and only takes five minutes.
Ethical Angel and CAF are encouraging companies of all sizes to enter, as Ethical Angel has developed the CGiX Calculator in a way that levels the playing field, celebrating small businesses just as much as large enterprises.
Joseph Hrycak, head of brand at Ethical Angel, said: “I’m thrilled that we are introducing this award in partnership with CAF at the 2021 Global Good Awards. We’ve admired GGA for a long time for the amazing work it does to raise the profile of corporate good around the world, and we feel this new award is perfectly in tune with that. The more we all pull together to raise awareness of what businesses can do to support good causes around the world, the more we’ll be able to support causes with donations and volunteers.”
The new category is free to enter and is open until 31st July 2021.
