Have you got an organic favourite?
The Nation’s Favourite organic product is a step closer to being crowned with the BOOM (Best of Organic Market) Awards shortlist being announced.
A tight contest has seen over 300 brands and products nominated and almost two thousand votes cast so far. Now, the 10 products that have received the most public votes face a further battle.
Run by Soil Association Certification, the UK’s largest organic certification body, the BOOM awards are a chance to celebrate the very best of organic food and drink.
The winning product will be announced at an awards ceremony in London, on 26 June hosted by 2019 BOOMbassador and Wahaca co-founder, Thomasina Miers.
Open until Monday 3 June, the final round of voting will take place on the Soil Association website and social media polls on the organic certification body’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.
The shortlist of 10 products celebrates the wide range of organic products now being enjoyed by shoppers across the country, from gin to cheddar cheese to nut butter. The shortlist is:
Abel & Cole – Guernsey Milk, Organic, Whole
Booja-Booja – Fine de Champagne Chocolate Truffles
Borough Broth Company – Free-Range Organic Chicken Bone Broth
Fatty’s Organic Spirits – Fatty’s Organic London Dry Gin
Godminster – Vintage Organic Cheddar
Milk & More – Organic Semi-Skimmed Milk in Glass
Nutcessity – Carob & Cashew Nut Butter
Riverford Organic Farmers – Seasonal Organic Veg Box
Whole Earth – Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter
Yeo Valley Organic – Natural Yoghurt
All voters will also have the chance to enter to win an organic hamper worth £100 provided by the BOOM Awards’ headline sponsors, Abel & Cole.
Louise Forster-Smith, BOOM Awards campaign manager, said: “ The organic market is booming, with more people than ever looking for, talking about and choosing organic. By voting for your favourite organic product, you’re playing your part in supporting a more sustainable food system that works with nature to protect the soil, encourages wildlife, avoids antibiotics and reduces pesticide use.
“Hundreds of organic products have been launched in the last year alone and the BOOM awards get bigger and better each year. The final shortlist shows what an exciting range of organic products is now available – it’s anyone’s guess who will win!”
