The UK’s largest online network of community projects, Project Dirt, has launched a new campaign – #first500 – to raise funds for new projects in 2017.
The initiative was inspired by the #FirstFiver campaign – where the public was encouraged to donate the first new £5 notes they received to charity, raising £5m.
Project Dirt’s #first500 fund has been created to give £500 grants to projects who apply with an idea that instantly impacts their community. The fund already boasts a £5K commitment from three organisations and it hopes more companies will match fund with a minimum of £500 – meaning more community goals get backed.
Project Direct wants you to get involved by tweeting and promoting the fund in your business newsletters and comms. Also if you know any community projects that may want to apply please share the Project Direct page.
