Awards Workshop proves a winner!
Giving tips and advice on how to write a winning awards entry, the very first Awards Entry Workshop run by the Global Good Awards and Boost Awards, proved a bit of winner with all 20 delegates rating it 8/10 or over, and an overall score of 91.25%.
Participants at the event, held at Investec’s HQ in London, discovered ways in which to set their awards entries apart from the crowd and with two long-standing judges in the room (Paula Owen and Will Akerman) they also got the chance to pitch their potential ideas, receiving valuable one-on-one feedback.
Delegates came from organisations across many sectors including utilities, IT, banking, energy, telecommunications as well as social enterprises.
As a result of the event’s success, more workshops will be scheduled for 2019.
Karen Sutton, GGA founder, commented: “The workshop provides a hands-on learning experience to help organisations of all sizes learn how to write a solid and robust awards entry – and not just for our Awards but other award programmes in the sector too.”
Chris Robinson, Boost Awards’ director who conducted the workshop said: “The interaction of participants makes it a dynamic process, as well as offering an excellent opportunity for networking with like-minded individuals. It’s also a lot of fun. Delegates learn and grow in their abilities, but in an atmosphere that is lighthearted, exciting and inspiring.”
Some of the comments received from the delegates include:
“I thought the content was very well delivered and I enjoyed the active learning aspect of putting what we had learnt into practise.”
“The workshop was practical, thought-provoking with a friendly and professional atmosphere, full of top tips and advice.”
“Interactive, well-structured and clean.”
“Very useful tips and tricks and helped to de-mystify the judging process!”
