Global Good Awards 2020 finalists revealed!
The finalists for the 2020 edition of the Global Good Awards, sponsored by Revive and CH&CO, have been announced! Shortlisters come from a variety of sectors – both large and small – and include a digital training programme transforming lives of refugees and people from disadvantaged backgrounds and a woodland foraging company producing organic alcohol-free spirits.
Now in its sixth year, the Awards recognise achievements in sustainable business practice across 15 categories including Company of the Year, Best Start-Up and Environmental Behaviour Change.
There are two new additions for 2020: Climate Action, sponsored by The Planet Mark, a category rewarding entities that are committed to reducing their CO2 emissions (and not simply offsetting); and Canon Young Champion of the Year, a category looking to highlight outstanding leadership – in two age groups, under 16 and under 21 – in campaigning for a good cause around a social or environmental issue.
Karen Sutton, CEO of the Awards, commented: “Judging Day went ahead last week – despite the challenging times – courtesy of wonderful support from Cisco. Its amazing Webex technology enabled our judges to all hook up virtually where they debated and discussed all the entries in order to whittle them down to this year’s shortlist. My sincere thanks therefore go to Cisco and all our category judges who’ve done such an excellent job!”
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the awards ceremony scheduled for 16th June will not now be going ahead. “However, on that date we will be announcing which entries have made it into the final Gold, Silver and Bronze positions,” adds Karen. “We’ll be saving the all-important winners announcement until we can reschedule a special Winners Lunch later this year. So plenty still to look forward to!”
