Welcoming Vertas: Brand New Sponsor & First Host of New Clinics
We are delighted to welcome Vertas who is joining the Global Good community for the first time this year to sponsor the Circular Economy Award.
Vertas employs over 4,000 employees and is one of the fastest growing facilities management companies in the Great Britain, providing a full spectrum of services including waste management to both the private and public sectors. With sustainability at the heart of their company values, Vertas works closely with its stakeholders, clients, suppliers, contractors, and local communities to support their environmental aspirations and drive positive environmental change throughout its supply chain.
Ian Surtees, Group CEO, at Vertas said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring an award at this year’s Global Good Awards. At Vertas, we are as sustainable as possible, using resources available locally, and are currently on our journey to net zero by 2030. We are fully committed to ESG, recognising our responsibility to protect and enhance the environments in which we work, creating a lasting legacy for generations to come.”
Brand New Sponsor-led Clinics
This year we are introducing new educational clinics on Zoom for all GGA entrants and, hitting the ground running, Vertas will be hosting the first of these in June. Drawing upon their vast experience in waste management, Mark Horner, Head of Vertas Environmental, will look at how recyclable your waste is and address common misconceptions associated with terms such as ‘recyclable’, ‘biodegradable’ and ‘compostable’ materials. The shocking truth about the carbon footprint of certain products that are transported great distances to be recycled will also be revealed.
In this 60-minute Zoom meeting the audience will be invited to interact with each other and the clinic provider to ask questions, share best practice, skills and ideas.
Invitations will be sent to all entrants after the extended closing date of 29th April.
