Five ‘Outstanding’ Years for the GGAs!
We are very proud to announce that the Global Good Awards have been accredited with the OUTSTANDING standard Awards Trust Mark for a 5th consecutive year!
In 2018, the GGAs were the first awards programme to achieve a gold standard, as it was then, and we have maintained the highest level of accreditation ever since.
Karen Sutton, the GGAs founder said: “It’s great for the efforts all all involved to be acknowledged in this way whilst giving the highest level of assurance to everyone who enters the Awards that this is an ethical, fair and transparent awards programme.”
The Awards Trust Mark scheme is an independent, not-for-profit accreditation programme, run by The Independent Awards Standards Council, with the goal of enhancing trust between those entering awards schemes, and the organisations running them.
It is based around a voluntary code of conduct that awards organisers commit to. In doing so, they guarantee their entire programme meets a high standard of ethics and transparency. Here are a few more reasons we are sure have contributed to the GGAs retaining this prestigious accolade.
The need for a standard was first identified by research conducted by Boost Awards, the award writing experts, for the benefit of all stakeholders within the awards industry. Chris Robinson, Boost’s MD & founder, said:
“The Global Good Awards continue to grow in stature and importance. We have seen first-hand these awards develop and practice what they preach – they are run sustainably down to every last detail and continue to get increasingly large numbers of entries from around the world.”
As part of the assessment process Awards Trust Mark assessors contact randomly selected awards applicants and judges to confirm that the award programme complied with the required code of conduct. Comments received by those in the GGA community approached include:
“The Global Good Awards really do set the standard for great process and strong ethics. The GGAs don’t settle for ‘same old’ – they are constantly looking for ways to improve and to ‘walk the walk’ for sustainable awards.” John Sage, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Tideway.
Rick Benfield of Rick Benfield Consulting said:
“A bonus for entrants is that they receive the feedback comments from all the judges on their entry, giving pointers based on their experience on where they think they can improve further (a bit like some free consultancy advice).”
He added: “I am really proud to be involved in the Global Good Awards as a judge. I’ve been involved for the last 5 years, and I can genuinely say these are authentic awards and not a money-making scheme as so many awards are! The judges are all very experienced with a range of expertise from different industries – some with very deep technical knowledge on certain topics of sustainability, others with a broader understanding across the full spectrum of sustainability (so we have depth and breadth) which means different viewpoints and ensures we can cover all angles when judging entrants.”
