Global Good Awards Entry Process 101; why + how to enter
With just over a month to go until we hit our main entry deadline (don’t forget that early bird pricing ends on 24th March), now is the time to bite the bullet and get that entry sorted.
There are myriad reasons why being able to call yourself a Global Good finalist or winner is an accolade worth having, and we thought it would be useful to answer some of the questions you might have about the entry and judging process. We hope you’ll have a read, and take this as the nudge you need to begin your journey to Global Good greatness!

Why the Global Good Awards over other similar programmes?
Put simply, we’re one of the only awards programme in the world to recognise and reward the actions rather than aims and targets of organisations that are driving change across all aspects of purpose-led sustainability and social impact. It’s not enough for an individual or company to have good intentions – we’re interested in those who ‘do’ and can prove it.
Is the entry process very complicated and time consuming?
We would predict it’s much less so than you might think!
All entrants receive second to none support throughout their application journey. We have ensured that our website provides a super comprehensive set of resources, to guide you every step of the way – whether that’s timelines, what we’re looking for in each category, as well as details about entry fees….and much more besides! In addition, we actively encourage you to give us a call for a chat if there’s anything you’re unsure of – please don’t suffer in silence, we are here to help at every stage!
The AwardStage platform provides us with a slick online entry system that ensures a painless, fuss-free application process for entrants and, again, if you run into problems there, we can help.
How do the entry fees work, and are there any discounts available?
Our entry fees are detailed here. As you’ll see, they’re scaled according to the type of entrant you are – from an individual/micro organisation, all the way up to multinationals with 5000+ employees. By doing this, we ensure that the fees are fair and appropriate, and there are absolutely no hidden costs – what you see is what you pay! We offer an early bird discount of 20% for entries submitted before 24th March; in addition, registered charities and public sector will continue to benefit from the 20% discount on entries right through to the main closing date.
Don’t forget, a portion of all those fees go to ‘doing good’. We make donations of £5 or £10 (depending on size of organisation) to Cool Earth from every paid entry in support of their deforestation initiatives, which is processed with Work for Good to cut through the red tape of income linked donations. We also donate 1% of all turnover from sponsorship, entry fees and ticket sales to Cool Earth via 1% for the Planet.
As a final note – your entry fee also gives you free reign to use our intellectual property for your own promotion purposes 😎
How do I know that judging is fair, and that our achievements won’t be swayed by how big/small our organisation is?
The Global Good Awards have held the ‘Outstanding’ Awards Trust Mark since 2018, the first in the world to do so, giving assurance to all entrants that we are totally independent, and that the judging process is transparent and robust. This independence means that our decisions and actions are not influenced by any vested interests or operational restrictions; we are free to develop the Global Good Awards in line with our ethos.
This extends to our judging panel; every member is highly experienced, and is asked to score a category that they know inside out – this guarantees that they can spot where an entry has achieved great things, but also means they’re very aware of ‘greenwashing’ – you have been warned! Many of our judges have been with us for several years, and it’s a joy when we have them tell us that they gain a vast amount of knowledge and self-development by being part of the process.
So, what will I actually get out of it? What’s my motivation to enter?
This is an easy one – a Global Good Award under your belt is good for your business, and good for your people. To explain…
Whether you’re a large or small company, social enterprise, start-up, charity or individual, simply associating with a truly sustainable awards programme presents PR opportunities. You can scale that up tenfold (at least) if you go on to be shortlisted or crowned a winner!
If you make the shortlist, we’ll share the news with our media database. Winners who join us at the event also receive a piece to camera video of their team’s reactions to their win on the night (at physical events only). You can use that was you wish.
With millennials prioritising cause and impact in the workplace, a Global Good Award win, nomination or shortlisting can help immeasurably in attracting talent. It’s also an ideal way to recognise, reward and motivate employees already in your organisation.
And lastly, a win, shortlisting, or nomination can act as a 3rd party endorsement for your business, and provides an opportunity to benchmark against your peers and competitors.
OK, you’ve convinced me – where should I head first?
First up, we’d recommend taking a look through the entry process, as well as the categories. Once you’ve decided which one fits your achievements best, then you’re good to go with starting to put your entry together via AwardStage. Don’t worry, you can start your entry, and save it as a draft to return to, at any time before the entry deadline – useful if you need to consult with others, or have a think about how you’d like to respond to a question.
And, once again, please do give us a shout if you have any questions. We can’t wait to see what you’ve achieved this year!
