The GGAs Welcome Planet Mark As Climate Action Sponsor for Third Year
The Global Good Award for Climate Action may have a new name in 2022 but we are delighted that the category sponsor, Planet Mark, remains the same!
It is no surprise, following COP26, that we have received greater interest in the climate award categories this year and there is no organisation better suited to judge this category. Planet Mark provides sustainability certification to companies who wish to measure and reduce carbon on their path to reaching net zero.
Embarking on a journey to reach net zero can be daunting but Jonathan Withey, Planet Mark’s head of business development, reassures companies that once they have gone through a quantification process, it is quite easy to wrap one’s head around.
He explains: “Measurement is key – you can’t manage what you don’t measure. It is a form of accountancy. Involve your most passionate people and strike the right balance between ambition and realism.”
As part of the Global Good Award’s Disruption: Delivered series of webinars Jonathan took part in this very encouraging and informative panel discussion advising companies how to embrace their net zero challenge.
Net Zero Carbon Essentials Workshops
Planet Mark is running a series of three-hour CPD-certified training sessions to give businesses confidence in their first steps towards a net zero commitment. The workshops will help companies identify the sources of their emissions and advise them on ways to reduce them. The next one is this Thursday, 24 March, followed by another on 28 April. Get more information and book your place here. Planet Mark is offering Global Good supporters a 20% discount using the code GGA2022.
The Climate Action: Race to Net Zero Award
This award is open to any organisations that set new standards in lowering the carbon footprint impact of their business activities. This category is rewarding entities that are committed to reducing their carbon dioxide, and other greenhouse gas emissions, but will not give credit to those simply offsetting their emissions alone. The judges will be looking for evidence that the entity is doing their best to reduce and/or eliminate emissions to the greatest extent possible; with the ultimate aim of reaching ‘Net Zero’ or, ideally, ‘carbon positivity’.
