Aptiv and NWG win ethics recognition
Two British companies, Aptiv and Northumbrian Water Group (NWG), feature in this year’s World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment published by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.
This year 128 companies have been recognised spanning 21 countries and 50 industries.
Aptiv is a global technology company that develops safer, greener and more connected solutions enabling the future of mobility. It is involved with smart city pilot projects leveraging a fleet of approximately 150 self-driving vehicles to provide “autonomous mobility-on-demand” in Singapore, Boston and Las Vegas.
NWG provides water and sewerage services to 2.7 million people in the North East of England as Northumbrian Water, and water services to 1.5 million people in the South East of England as Essex & Suffolk Water. It also offers bespoke water management strategies to businesses.
The World’s Most Ethical Companies assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient (EQ) framework, which offers a quantitative way to assess a company’s performance in an objective manner. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics.
Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35%), culture of ethics (20%), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20%), governance (15%) and leadership and reputation (10%). All companies that participate in the assessment process receive their scores, providing them with valuable insights into how they stack up against leading organisations.
