Bold Actions Required for GGAs
Here at the Global Good Awards we pride ourselves on “walking the talk” to drive social impact and sustainability.
The latest IPCC report was the catalyst to finally make world leaders and policy-makers wake up to the enormity of the challenge we face between now and 2030 to save our planet. We are now in the final decade, our most critical moment in history, to change behaviour to preserve our very existence.
There is no time for aims – we need actions. We too are taking action with a bold update to our judging process.
In 2022, we are introducing strict new thresholds by which our judges will award future Global Good Awards. They have always been strict and don’t stand for any green washing but we now have an official new policy: we will no longer reward gold to an individual or organisation solely because they have scored the highest in their category. For complete transparency, this was the spread of scores for the 2021 prize winners:
From 2022, our new policy will require entries to meet these minimum percentage scores to be shortlisted and eligible for prize winner:
Gold: 80%
Silver: 75%
Bronze: 70%
Finalist: 60%
