GGA founder to chair sustainability roundtable
Global Good Awards founder and CEO, Karen Sutton, will be chairing a roundtable on how to run more sustainable events at the prestigious Events Events 2020 conference on 28 January at The Mermaid in London. She’ll be sharing the role with Kat Winfield, venue manager at BMA House; the Award’s long term ceremony venue.
The conference for the event industry is organised around four major themes:
- Supporting younger employees in the workplace
- Gender equality and wider diversity
- Incorporating Sustainability into Event Thinking
- Achieving more without sacrificing your bottom-line.
Given Karen’s wealth of experience with her awards programme and her recently launched consultancy service, she is well-placed to moderate the round table session where event professionals will discuss ways they can have a more positive impact on the planet when organising events. They will discuss the issue of improving sustainability in events, a sector that has traditionally been quite intensive on single-use displays and large amounts of unrecycled rubbish at the end.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of Events Events 2020,” Karen said. “The more I can spread the message about how to run events sustainably the better.”
The Global Good Awards 2020 closes on 28th February. (6th March extended deadline)
